He makes his way through the touristic part of the city, while trying to ignore the lot of drunk college students, rampageous bourgeoisie and flamboyant tourists. But it is also close to Valentine's Day... This he can't ignore. He hates stuffed animals. Old acquaintances and his tiresome search get him to muse about previous assignments and choices. The alcohol and fatigue weigh him down. They influence his grasp on reality. It keeps on raining. It's going to be a long night. Arnout Busscher (1987, Antwerp) spent most of his adult life in and around Brussels, where he acquired his Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology and made a career in the world of Human Resources. His love for literature, comics, movies and the world of psychology drove him to write his first novel. He resides in Ternat with his wife and son. Het is nacht en het regent. Het wordt een lange nacht. Arnout Busscher (1987) is geboren en getogen in Antwerpen, maar hij trok als prille student naar Brussel. Hij heeft een Master in de Klinische Psychologie en is al jaren actief in de wereld van de Human Resources. Zijn voorliefde voor literatuur, comics, film en psychologie liggen aan de basis van zijn debuutroman. Busscher woont met zijn vrouw en zoon in Ternat.
