[Flaptekst]: On 10 October 2006, the deadline for the implementation of the directive 2004/83/EC of 29 April 2004, on minimum standards for the qualification and status of third-country nationals or stateless persons who otherwise need international protection and the content of the protection granted (Qualification Directive) expired. The lectures on which this book is based were originally given during a seminar on the Qualification Directive that took place in Nijmegen, at the Center for Migration Law, Radboud University, on Friday 6 October 2006. In light of the very substantial level of interest, we have decided to publish a book on the results of the seminar so that people who were not able to attend may benefit from the wealth of knowledge and information which was shared. This book offers insight in all the different aspects of the Qualification Directive.
